Offices and business centers are usually heated in two ways:
1. With the help of central heating, which is laid at the beginning of the construction of the business center. Even in new business centers, it does not always warm the building well, and most importantly, it does not take into account the specifics of the premises and often just maintains the minimum required temperature.
2. Using the heat source chosen by the tenant: convectors, fan heaters or other types of heaters.
Project source data:
Office building, Kyiv, 02094, 30 Popudrenka str.,
Two-storey building.
Walls – brick, thickness 0.5 - 0.7 m.
The heating system (water heating) is old, the piping around the room and the batteries themselves are old, placed under each window, heated no more than 40-45 degrees.
The room is insulated.
Ceiling height – 2.75 m.
The windows are wooden (double) and plastic (mostly without draughts).
Repair of the existing heating system is impractical – it is necessary to replace it with a new one.
The goal of the project is to replace old cast – iron batteries with an alternative source of heating, with minimal equipment and installation costs.
On the building plan, the rooms that were planned to install heating are highlighted in color, where the hatching is either storage rooms or passageways, it is enough to maintain a temperature of 15-18 degrees, and bathrooms are highlighted in blue.
The task of Teploceramic LLC is to make a calculation and choose, based on the heat loss of premises, the best option for heating an office building."
Heating of office premises in Kyiv
Taking into account the small heat loss of the room, the calculation of electricity consumption for heating 1 m2 – 50 watts.
When selecting ceramic heaters Teploceramic there were 2 main questions:
1. Use the electrical panel with built-in controllers or with remote.
2. Which model lines of ceramic panels should be used so that the total investment in new heating is minimal."
Taking into account the customer's wishes, we decided on the following heating option: installation of ceramic Teploceramic panels without built-in regulators, and additional connection of panels to Cewal RQ 10 temperature controllers for each office space where there is a need to adjust the temperature.
Installation of infrared heaters without regulators allowed to:
1. Reduce the cost of the equipment. Teploceramic heaters without built-in regulators can be bought cheaper, on average, by 600-800 UAH, than panels with built-in temperature sensors.
2. Provide convenience in using the heating system. When installing remote temperature controllers, there is no need to approach each heater separately, and when there are more than 5 wall panels in the room, employees' time is saved. It is faster and easier to go to one remote air sensor and adjust the temperature."
Regarding the choice of models of Teploceramic heaters, it was decided, the main focus of the purchase to do on
teploceramic TC 395 – since it is the most cheap model.
teploceramic TCM 400 (there is an on/off button) – we decided to install it in small rooms without installing remote controls.
Модели ТСМ 450, ТСМ 600 and TCM 800 were placed at the request of tenants in those offices where the installation of 1 infrared heater was dictated by the lack of free space for installing 2 or more models of TC 395.
Heaters Teploceramic for a two-storey office with an area of 742 m2
In total, it took 742 m2 to heat the office building:
Model TC 395 – 44 pieces.
Model TCM 400 – 22 pieces.
Model TCM 450 – 9 pieces.
Model TCM 600 – 13 pieces.
Model TCM 800 – 3 pieces.
Temperature controller Cewal – 44 pieces, 1 controller for each office space where temperature adjustment is required.
The cost of Teploceramic equipment for an office building
The first and main purchase of Teploceramic heaters and thermoregulators cost the customer 2 770 €. In the next 3 months, the owner of the office building bought infrared panels for his other premises, with a total cost of 610 €. Installation costs amounted to 165 €, including the purchase of connecting cables with a cross section of 0.75 and the services of an electrician for connecting heaters to thermoregulators. The customer saved on wall mounting of electric heaters – due to the independent installation of heating panels according to a simple scheme that is attached to each infrared Teploceramic heater.
According to the results of operation of the new heating system, the savings on heating this room amounted to 57.5% compared to the previous version of water heating.
